Writing Task-The Canterbury Tales-Satire
Choose 2 tales or 2 travelers. In a well-organized essay, discuss how Chaucer uses them to portray the medieval period in a satirical manner.

Satire-
the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing, or deriding vice, folly, etc.
a literary composition, in verse or prose, in which human folly and vice are held up to scorn, derision, or ridicule.

· Select the ones that you know best.

3. Organize
· Number the examples you will use so you know what order they will appear in.

4. Write it
-Intro-state the thesis. Which tales/characters best exemplify Chaucer’s goal of satire.
